What is Plan Management and How Does it Work?
Plan Management is a fully funded service under the NDIS that takes the stress out of managing your plan finances — and it’s available to any participant who wants it.
What does a Plan Manager do?
Think of a Plan Manager as your NDIS bookkeeper.
They take care of the paperwork, so you can focus on what matters most.
Your Plan Manager will:
Pay your providers on your behalf
Track your budget and spending
Help you make the most of your funding
Make sure everything complies with NDIS guidelines
You still choose your providers and remain in full control of your supports — your Plan Manager simply handles the financial side of things for you.
Can I request Plan Management?
Yes — absolutely.
Any NDIS participant can ask for Plan Management to be included in their plan. It’s:
100% funded by the NDIS
Does not take away from your other budgets
Cannot be refused — you don’t need to provide goals or reports
Just let your Support Coordinator, LAC or planner know that you’d like your plan to be plan-managed.
How do I get started?
It’s simple:
Ask your LAC, Support Coordinator or planner to include Plan Management in your plan.
Once approved (it always is!), choose a registered Plan Manager.
They’ll work with you and your providers to get everything up and running.
“A Plan Manager is like your NDIS bookkeeper. They pay your providers, keep track of your spending and make sure everything follows the rules. You still have choice and control — they just take care of the admin.”
